He has given his angels charge over you to guard you in all your ways. Let them thank the Lord for his mercy; his wonderful works are for the children of men. Let them give thanks and say among the nations, the Lord has done great things for them. O Lord, what is man that you have made yourself known to him, or why do you incline your heart to him? And you do incline your heart to him; you show him your care and your concern. Finally, you send your only Son and the grace of your Spirit, and promise him a vision of your countenance. And so, that nothing in heaven should be wanting in your concern for us, you send those blessed spirits to serve us, assigning them as our guardians and our teachers. He has given his angels charge over you to guard you in all your ways. These words should fill you with respect, inspire devotion and instill confidence; respect for the presence of angels, devotion because of their loving service, and confidence because of their protection. And so the angels are here; they are at your side, they are with you, present on your behalf. They are here to protect you and to serve you. But even if it is God who has given them this charge, we must nonetheless be grateful to them for the great love with which they obey and come to help us in our great need. So let us be devoted and grateful to such great protectors; let us return their love and honor them as much as we can and should. Yet all our love and honor must go to him, for it is from him that they receive all that makes them worthy of our love and respect. We should then, my brothers, show our affection for the angels, for one day they will be our co-heirs just as here below they are our guardians and trustees appointed and set over us by the Father. We are God’s children although it does not seem so, because we are still but small children under guardians and trustees, and for the present little better than slaves. Even though we are children and have a long, a very long and dangerous way to go, with such protectors what have we to fear? They who keep us in all our ways cannot be overpowered or led astray, much less lead us astray. They are loyal, prudent, powerful. Why then are we afraid? We have only to follow them, stay close to them, and we shall dwell under the protection of God’s heaven. From a sermon by Saint Bernard, abbot Hide your counsel from such as are jealous of you. The Wisdom of Jesus the Son of Sirach 37:10 You don't have a soul. C.S.Lewis Islamic missioners also use this, they do not tell women that in the paradise promised by Koran their role will be to serve men copulating with black-eyed virgins (see Surah: 36:55-57, 44,51-54). They also do not tell millions of islamized Africans and Afroamericans, that, according to Koran, every black-skinned goes to hell and will not be saved, even if he converts to Islam (3:106-107). Before some black muslim becomes proficient enough in the mekkan dialect of Arabic language to understand the meaning of that racist verse, they can fool the world about the universalism of islam. After all, Allah himself stands as someone who is plotting tricks and is doing that best of all (Koran 3:54) Miroslaw Rucki ...and you shall have a paddle among your weapons; and it shall be, when you sit down abroad, you shall dig therewith, and shall turn back and cover that which comes from you: for Yahweh your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you, and to give up your enemies before you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that he may not see an unclean thing in you, and turn away from you. Deuteronomy 23:13-14 It is a lack of instruction in a man to listen at the door; But the prudent man will be grieved with the disgrace. The Wisdom of Jesus the Son of Sirach 21:24 Before fire is the vapor and smoke of a furnace; So revilings before bloodshed. The Wisdom of Jesus the Son of Sirach 22:24 Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou indeed be unto me as a deceitful brook, as waters that fail? The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah 15:18 For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Let not your prophets that are in the midst of you, and your diviners, deceive you; neither hearken ye to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah 29:8 If you find yourself a bit irritated and overwhelmed, it's a sign that you're spending less time with God, and more time with this world. Author unknown Conversion is the matter of a moment, sanctification is the work of a lifetime. St. Josemaria Escriva Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. According to some reference books, "Desiderata" is still sometimes thought to have been 'found' at Old St. Paul's Church in Baltimore and to date back to 1692. There never was, and never will be a place on earth free from sorrows. The only sorrow-less place possible is the heart, when Lord is present there. St. Nikon of Optina The way of perfection passes by way of the Cross. There is no holiness without renunciation and spiritual battle.68 Spiritual progress entails the ascesis and mortification that gradually lead to living in the peace and joy of the Beatitudes: He who climbs never stops going from beginning to beginning, through beginnings that have no end. He never stops desiring what he already knows. Catechism of the Catholic Church 2015 The children of our holy mother the Church rightly hope for the grace of final perseverance and the recompense of God their Father for the good works accomplished with his grace in communion with Jesus. Keeping the same rule of life, believers share the "blessed hope" of those whom the divine mercy gathers into the "holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." Catechism of the Catholic Church 2016 These differences belong to God's plan, who wills that each receive what he needs from others, and that those endowed with particular "talents" share the benefits with those who need them. These differences encourage and often oblige persons to practice generosity, kindness, and sharing of goods; they foster the mutual enrichment of cultures: I distribute the virtues quite diversely; I do not give all of them to each person, but some to one, some to others.... I shall give principally charity to one; justice to another; humility to this one, a living faith to that one.... and so I have given many gifts and graces, both spiritual and temporal, with such diversity that I have not given everything to one single person, so that you may be constrained to practice charity towards one another.... I have willed that one should need another and that all should be my ministers in distributing the graces and gifts they have received from me. Catechism of the Catholic Church 1937 I thought that continence arose from one's own powers, which I did not recognize in myself. I was foolish enough not to know . . . that no one can be continent unless you grant it. For you would surely have granted it if my inner groaning had reached your ears and I with firm faith had cast my cares on you Catechism of the Catholic Church 2520 Desire for true happiness frees man from his immoderate attachment to the goods of this world so that he can find his fulfillment in the vision and beatitude of God. "The promise [of seeing God] surpasses all beatitude.... In Scripture, to see is to possess.... Whoever sees God has obtained all the goods of which he can conceive." Catechism of the Catholic Church 2548 There will true glory be, where no one will be praised by mistake or flattery; true honor will not be refused to the worthy, nor granted to the unworthy; likewise, no one unworthy will pretend to be worthy, where only those who are worthy will be admitted. There true peace will reign, where no one will experience opposition either from self or others. God himself will be virtue's reward; he gives virtue and has promised to give himself as the best and greatest reward that could exist.... "I shall be their God and they will be my people...." This is also the meaning of the Apostle's words: "So that God may be all in all." God himself will be the goal of our desires; we shall contemplate him without end, love him without surfeit, praise him without weariness. This gift, this state, this act, like eternal life itself, will assuredly be common to all. Catechism of the Catholic Church 2550 We must begin with thanksgiving for everything. Author unknown Unfortunately, brethren, in most cases, we can not boast of his treatment and the treatment of the neighbor. When handling the higher we are often hypocrisy, flattery, deceit, chelovekougodnichestvo; handling with lower - contempt, pride, arrogance, hubris. This is not good, as the Apostle James says: "However, if you fulfill the royal law, according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well. But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors" (James 2,8-9). Here is what is written on the subject of St. Seraphim of Sarov in the life of it. A special feature of his manners and conversation were the love and humility. No matter who comes to him, whether poor or rich man in rags in bright clothing, what man would not come to the needs, in whatever sinful state nor was his conscience, he kissed all with love, all bowed to the ground and blessing, he kissed the hands of even the uninitiated people. Daily, at numerous meetings aliens in Sarov had happened in his cell about two thousand people or more. He is not burdened with all this and still found time to talk to the benefit of the soul. In a few words he explained to everyone that it was meet for him, revealing the innermost thoughts often turned to him. Scarce shall be your bank, and the Mother of God - the key to your contribution. Put your money in the bank of the Blessed Virgin Mary - and will be of great interest. For the money you can buy everything, but you can not avoid death. Cleanliness. It is not only the best quality, but also the most delicate of all virtues. Settle the first movement of temptations. How to keep clean? Saint Philip Neri usually served five of control: bypass the bad community, to circumvent the slack, do not use delicate and delicious food, often to pray, confess and receive communion. Your language and behavior may always be tactful. Delicacy in his words and behavior make other friends of yours. The devil is afraid of happy people. As best you can perform what you should do. Everything is being done so, so not to blush with shame. God always blesses children obey their parents. Happiness. Wealth does not make people happy. It is useless to look for happiness on earth. Only humility and love will make you happy on this earth and in eternity. Kindness. To do Kindness, you need courage. Willingness to endure, never let anyone humiliate, always be gentle. Do good to all, and the evil - anyone. At the end of life to gather the fruit of good works. Trust in God and we will march forward. With God, every bird that feels the branch swaying, continues to sing, because he knows that there are wings. Experience. Learn from everything that happens to you. All marginalized and persecuted are my best friends. Envy. Do not give in to envy. Good one should be all good. Health. To stay healthy and live a long time, you need to have a clear conscience, that is to live in God's kindness, not to overeat, to work, to avoid bad companions. The greatest evil is a sin. Fear of bad books, as the epidemic. Obscene books - is an epidemic infecting many guys. Call himself a Christian, but do not live in a Christian - is disgusting hypocrisy. Slothful in life, you will weep at the death. For the lazy no place in Heaven. Love of God. Not everyone can go to fast or long pilgrimage to the glory of God, not everyone can give large alms, but all can love God - just enough to want it. Love always wins. Where there is love, there is happiness. God created us to others. Love for the pupils. It is not enough to love children, you need to let them know that they are loved. Communion. Not being able to receive the Holy Mysteries of Christ, accept Him spiritually - a great desire; closely participate in the Mass, I met with him in the Blessed Eucharist, do good to honor him, because God is very nice when you show mercy. Holy Mother of God loves young people, so also loves those who deal with it. If you pray, two grains will grow four spikelets. Who prays, will see God. Courage. Courage to practice their faith and their beliefs. Nothing in the world should not scare us. Should never miss an opportunity that God gives us to do Kindness. Our reward will be in heaven, but of this we have to think for this to work. World is often misleading. Only God is good rewards. Providence of God will not help us if we spend money on superfluous and unnecessary things. Criticism cool heart. Criticism - this is one of the greatest epidemics in public life. The joys of this world disappear like lightning. Will rest in heaven. We will not go to Heaven, because a life of luxury. Sky will pay for everything. Innocence - is the lily among thorns, which God plucks in his flower garden, to make it to his heart as his decoration. Inconstancy. I have often seen that fickle people who do not adhere to their principles without objective reasons for whatever he undertook, had this success. Intemperance in eating shortens life. Who knows how to dominate his gluttony, the truthful man. Gluttony is the mother of many shortcomings. Optimism. Let us sow and imitate the farmer who waits patiently for the harvest. To break the rose must pay attention to spikes; since there is no rose without a thorn. In matters of faith, I agree with the Pope and the Pope want to remain a good Catholic to death. Pope's desire for me - an order. The worst drawback of modern pedagogy is an exception to the church scholarship program - first of all, death and hell. Gentle, sincere and always love the Blessed Virgin. If you knew that this love is important, it would not have given her all the gold in the world. Let our heart is not attached to the things of this world, if not contaminated by them, and always rises to the sky. "All for God! All - for his glory. "I think all of you, what you do is directed to the glory of God. Every night ask yourself: If I died tonight, what would be my fate? At the moment of death to gather the fruit of what we sow in life. We have to work as if we did not die, but live as if we were to die soon. From two things I would like to be independent - from sleeping and eating. Fun should dispel any sadness in my heart. Any way banishes sadness, because it hurts the soul. Confess often, even if not committed a grave sin, this act of obedience to God is very nice. If we want to improve our financial situation, first try to take care of the things of God. Particularly necessary to teach students the virtues of humility. Proud student - a mad ignorant. Who has a good conscience, he has everything. Annual and monthly to feel conscience. Patience. God wants us to come to Him through patience. The body must help the soul to do good, it must serve the soul. The soul must rule over the body. Miserable and abandoned all have no other refuge, except in your generous heart. Give plenty of poor, if you want to become rich. Poverty to live, you must have the heart of poverty. My concern has always been not to take anything. Mortification. Who does not want to suffer with Jesus Christ on earth, can not be happy with him in heaven. Fantasy. The slothful man who thinks about unnecessary things. We must carry our cross as Jesus Christ. Our cross is the suffering that comes to us every day. It is not enough just to take the cross in his arms and kiss him, a real cross to bear. Any work, even the most difficult, is not a big burden when performing it for the Church and for the Pope. Without patience can not be holy. With two wings to fly Heaven - Confession and Communion. ==============================================================
