Don't be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.                Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.                Consider the ravens: they don't sow, they don't reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!                Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?                If then you aren't able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?                Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.                But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?                Don't seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.                For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.                But seek God's Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

Swim Against the Current!

By Dorota & Bartosz,
Love One Another 12/2009→ True Love Waits - Pure Hearts

I am twenty-four years old. We joined the Movement of Pure Hearts on my boyfriend’s name day and we have now been going out for four years. The day we became sharers in this lofty idea was a truly beautiful and exceptional one. We asked a priest friend of ours to witness our act of entrustment to Christ. We said the Prayer of Pure Hearts before Blessed Caroline’s relics in the chapel named after her. After that, we received Holy Communion, and the priest prayed over us.

We joined MPH because we were convinced it was only through Jesus Christ that we could come to enjoy joy, happiness, and true love. Daily prayer, a decade of the rosary, the chaplet of divine mercy, and reading the Scriptures give us the strength to overcome our failings and weaknesses. Prayer is like a light that illuminates the mind. It shows us how to conduct our daily lives, be it in the family, at work, or in love.

After joining MPH, I became conscious of a deep longing for God, a growing desire to know Him better. I also felt a need to receive Jesus in the Eucharist more often.

You cannot imagine the joy and order that the Lord has since brought into our lives! Now we find it easier to forgive, to keep a check on our tongues, to master our weaknesses, and to put every unpleasantness behind us; and this, in turn, gives us great inner peace. Of course we have to be demanding of ourselves. But we both see that the path we are now taking is the only right one.

I am delighted that on our wedding day we will be able to offer each other the most beautiful of wedding gifts — our own pure love. Though we have been together for so long, we have not — thank God! — betrayed our pledge.

The “freedom” that today’s world offers us (the freedom that leads into sexual enslavement) is now only too tritely familiar. It brings on nothing but a sense of loss and despair. These days we have to swim against the current. We have to demand a lot from ourselves, and this is where MPH comes in. What better challenge and reason for praising Jesus Christ!
