By Jolanta & Piotr, Warsaw, Dear Holy Father, we are writing this letter to share with you an overwhelming joy. We have been married for ten years and all this time dreaming of having children of our own. After praying for the gift of parenthood for so long without result, we began to lose hope. In May of 2001, we traveled to Rome to visit friends, but naturally we also wanted to meet you at a Wednesday general audience. When we were able to approach you, kiss your ring, and exchange a few words with you, we did not pass up the chance to inform you of our desire to have children. Father, you told us then, “Everything will turn out fine,” and a new spirit of hope entered our hearts. And so it has come to be! Two days before Christmas Eve (2003), we learned that we are going to be parents! Holy Father! This is a tremendous joy, which we cannot resist sharing with you. We believe you supported us in your prayers, and for this we thank you dearly. As we write this letter, I am into the fourth month of my pregnancy. The baby is growing, a constant miracle in our eyes.
