Don't be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.                Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.                Consider the ravens: they don't sow, they don't reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!                Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?                If then you aren't able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?                Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.                But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?                Don't seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.                For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.                But seek God's Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

Faith works miracles

Jesus asked St Sister Faustina Kowalska to speak and write about His mercy. I also want to write about the mercy of the Lord Jesus, which was revealed to me and my family.

Faith works miracles

The grace of the Merciful Jesus concerned my younger son, Simon, who is now seven years old. Seven years ago, when I realised that I was pregnant, I fell ill with the flu. When the gynaecologist heard about my disease, he informed me of the tragic effects that the virus could have on the baby. He did an ultrasound and diagnosed that the influenza virus had destroyed the embryo. He said that I should soon expect a miscarriage. It was a blow to me. I gave my baby’s life to Christ, praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. The enormity of this tragedy was compounded by my experience of a miscarriage in a previous pregnancy. Despite the grim prognosis, I went for a short holiday with my husband and our elder son. Wherever I went, I was only looking for the nearest hospital, where I could go when the worst happened, yet that tragic moment did not come. I found a new doctor, who was like a good Guardian Angel (God often puts wonderful people on our path!). It turned out that the baby was developing well. Every day I continued to pray, asking others to pray too. And although the fear sown by the first doctor accompanied me to the end, I trusted God with all my heart and entrusted my baby’s care to Him.

Concerned about my baby’s health, I decided to give birth in a large hospital — not very friendly to mothers, but equipped with the latest medical equipment. I also arranged to have a doctor to be able to help the baby immediately. It was all unnecessary; the care of the Lord Jesus was enough. Our son was born completely healthy, and so quickly that the doctor did not even get there in time. Praise be to God!

Our son is now always smiling and happy with life, despite the fact that, from the age of six months, he was sick a lot. That was not the result of my illness during pregnancy. He was in hospitals and sanatoriums many times and really suffered a lot for his seven years. However, he is happy and brings a lot of joy into our lives. He’s not afraid of doctors and nurses or medical treatments. I came to the conclusion that this is another miracle! Jesus gives him a lot of strength to carry his cross.

I encourage you all to pray for expectant mothers, even for those who do not know that we are praying for them, such as work colleagues. For several years now, I have been praying for all my friends and acquaintances, and for my cousins, for all those expecting a baby. I have surrounded a lot of children with my prayer before they were born. I also pray for those who have problems with waiting for their offspring.

Jesus, I trust in You!

Margaret
