Lord Jesus, I trust in you!

Don't be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they don't sow, they don't reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds! Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height? If then you aren't able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith? Don't seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious. For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek God's Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

Lord Jesus, I trust in you!

A couple of years ago, I became very ill, and for seven weeks I was confined to a clinic in Australia, where I live. I had heart disease: my valves were damaged, my blood was infected, I had gallstones in my gall bladder, water in my lungs, thyroid problems, blood in my urine, a blood clot in my aorta, a fever of over 40 degrees Celsius and cysts in my intestines. After going to the hospital, I spent a week on life-support. The disease didn’t abate and my condition deteriorated. The doctor, who was a Pole, asked me whether I could come up with anything else, since it seemed I had all the diseases possible. I lost 20 kilos, even though my weight normally never went over 50 kilos. My condition was becoming critical, and they transferred me to an isolation unit. Not even my family was permitted to visit me. When I prayed, I felt well, and I didn’t experience any pain. I told myself that this was nothing in comparison with what Jesus suffered.

The hospital personnel saw that the end was coming for me and called a priest to administer the last rights. The priest was French, and, praying in Latin, he administered the sacrament of the sick to me. Then he said, “‘Lord Jesus, I trust in you!’ Repeat this after me”. He stroked my head and before leaving added: “sleep peacefully”. I was completely conscious and aware. When the priest left, at about 4 in the afternoon, I fell asleep. I woke up at 7 in the morning when the doctor came into my room. My doctor examined me and said: “everything has cleared up. How did that happen?” Another doctor and some medical students who were there looked at me wondering. I knew that it was the Lord Jesus who had healed me when he came to me in the sacrament of anointing of the sick. He healed me because I trusted in Him.

I stayed in the hospital one more week, since they expected the disease to return. Then they removed some cysts and stones and implanted new valves. I, on the other hand, considered what the words “Jesus, I trust in you” meant. What kind of prayer is this? It was explained to me that this is part of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I started to pray it, and still do so today.

Please, pray to Jesus through the intercession of Mary. They will listen to you and help you.
