Don't be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.                Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.                Consider the ravens: they don't sow, they don't reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!                Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?                If then you aren't able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?                Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.                But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?                Don't seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.                For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.                But seek God's Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

Love One Another!

I am grateful to God and my brothers and sisters for the priceless gift — the icon of the Virgin Mother, Sara’s Fragrance–and your prayers. I hereby testify that the Most Holy Mother of God is helping me a great deal. I recently had a serious operation as a result of which my whole left side was severely lacerated. The blood vessels were so badly damaged that I had no circulation in my arms and legs. Following your advice, I began to hold the little icon to my breast. Soon I felt an extraordinary warmth spreading over my whole body. At such moments I always recite the Our Father and Hail Mary… I pray for you both at home and at church. May God save you!

I greet you, my dear ones! I received your letter and picture of the Virgin Mother and her Child Jesus. You cannot imagine what joy I felt upon reading the letter with the prayers to the Mother of God and St. Charbel, the wonder-worker from Lebanon. Truly, Our Heavenly Queen makes no distinction between Catholics, Orthodox, or Baptists. They are all holy people, bathed in the blood of Christ! I cannot describe the state I was in that day. I wept on account of the sins of which I became aware, but I also wept with tears of joy; for, our human soul was created in the image and likeness of God; it is immortal and thirsts for its Creator. Now I tell everyone that we must take care to rise from the dead — not for judgment and condemnation, but for eternal life and happiness. Every person must decide this for himself. Christ has done the most important thing. He has opened the gates of the Heavenly Kingdom and stands at these gates, calling to each of us by name.

Dear Father Alexander,

I received your letter and photo of the Virgin Mother — Sara’s Fragrance. Many thanks! I wish to inform you that recently my mother was in hospital with diabetes. She suffered from a badly inflamed toe, and the doctors decided to amputate part of her foot. I immediately brought the little icon to the hospital, where we prayed together. After a while her toe began to heal. The doctors shrugged their shoulders in amazement. Mother is now back home. She prays constantly, clutching the holy image to her breast. Together we offer up prayers for her healing and salvation. I am very grateful to you for the letter that gave us so much hope!
