If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don't have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.                If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don't have love, I am nothing.                If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don't have love, it profits me nothing.                Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with.

Love One Another!

Through His death and resurrection, Christ embraced all of humankind in His Divine Mercy. In rising from the dead, He scored the definitive victory over sin and death.

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” (1 Cor 15: 55).

Since Christ’s resurrection is the overarching fact of human history, its salvific reality is constantly present in the sacraments of the Church. When we sincerely confess our sins in the sacrament of penance and receive Jesus with a pure heart in Holy Communion, we receive “a medicine of immortality, an antidote to death” — a guarantee of our own resurrection. “Those who feed on Christ in the Eucharist,” John Paul II tells us, “need not wait until the hereafter to receive eternal life: they already possess it on earth, as the first-fruits of a future fullness, which will embrace man in his totality” (Ecclesia de eucharistia, 18).

To all our readers, benefactors, and distributors, we extend our earnest wish that the Feast of the Resurrection will transform your lives and bring total trust in God’s boundless mercy. Only such trust can scatter our worries, anxieties, and fears of the future. It is then that we experience within ourselves the infinite mercy of the Risen Christ and His power to conquer every weakness, temptation, sin, and, finally, at the close of our earthly life, death itself.

Thank you for your generous contributions to Love One Another’s publishing fund and your “adoption” of our readers in the mission lands. Thanks to your sacrifices, we are able to publish and distribute our magazine free of charge throughout Africa, India, Eastern Europe, and the former territories of the USSR. Please continue, to the extent your means and circumstances allow, to partake in this work of “adoption.” Be missionaries in your own neighborhoods as well. Help us to win more readers in your country.

In rising from the death, Jesus conquered every evil. Let us allow Him to achieve this victory within our own hearts. For your intentions, we continue to offer up a daily rosary and chaplet of divine mercy and a weekly Mass.
